Poker Tournament Results

Ok, so I've had a few people say they want to know how the poker tournament went so I figured I would give them a short rundown of the tourney. IT WENT BAD! THAT'S HOW IT WENT! Just kidding. Kinda. It was bad in that I didn't last too long, but it was an enjoyable time overall. To win at poker you need a little skill and you need luck to be on your side. Let's just say that if luck was John Wilkes Booth, it viewed me as Abraham Lincoln. Here's how my final hand went.....

My hand. I call.

Flop....

I bet a couple hundred chips. One person calls everyone else folds.

Turn card....

At this point I'm confident I have the best hand on the table and push all in. He agonizes over the decision and finally calls.

He flips his cards over....

Yes! Like I thought, I have the best hand. He has a pair of aces and a flush draw.

River.....

Ugh! I'm finished.

I hate the river! I hate Billy Joel because he sang "River of Dreams", I hate Brad Pitt because he was in "A River Runs Through It", I hate Good Charlotte and Bruce Springsteen because they wrote songs named "The River", and I hate Francis Lloyd Wright for designing the Kaufmann House to be built over a river.

Oh no!! With a suited A-Q, you should've raised before the flop. He might've folded with a low 6 kicker.

Somebody had already raised pre-flop, so I called the raise. I probably should have bet bigger before the turn card since I had a pair of queens with an ace kicker. I'm still surprised he called an all in with a possible flush draw, even with a pair of aces.
