Spoiled?

My middle daughter and I were driving home last night and she started talking about the pros and cons of going to a private school next year. She said some cons would be leaving her friends, but that some pros would be meeting new friends and also being able to keep in contact with her old friends. She mentioned that a friend of hers told her that at a private school you wear a uniform, white polo shirts and blue skirts. I told her that they might not be white shirts, they might be red. "Yeah" she said, "But another pro is that at least it's still Polo". To which I told her that is wasn't Polo Ralph Lauren the brand, but polo as in the type of shirt. "Ooooh" she said a little dejectedly.

I blame Janie.

You so can't blame me! I didn't even know what brand the little polo thingy was for before I met you! To me, name brand shopping was going to Target or Old Navy. :-P

I am going to have to go with Janie on this one. And not because she is my sister. We grew up on hand-me-downs and that black-and-white-packaged generic food stuff, dude.

That's funny. My idea of name brand is Old Navy, too. I'm still perfectly happy shopping at the thrift store next to our breakfast restaurant. You'd be surprised that the number of brand named clothing that can be had for a song.
